Every celebration begins with a feeling and for this first birthday, it was all about joy, sparkle, and a little firecracker personality. Inspired by the phrase “This Girl Is On Fire,” this party was designed to capture playful energy, sweet femininity, and the magic of turning ONE in the most fun and vibrant way.

We embraced a bright and happy palette, think warm pinks paired with bold, vibrant reds. The overall design focused on creating a space that felt lighthearted, inviting, and full of personality. We softened the theme into something age appropriate and whimsical, blending fiery tones with delicate, girly details to create a celebration that felt both lively and adorable.

To bring everything together, we mixed custom décor pieces with thoughtfully selected party elements, creating a setup that felt intentional, cohesive, and visually joyful.

In-House Design Work

As you can probably imagine, there are not a lot of girly options for a Fire Fighter Theme Birthday Party, so we got creative and made them ourselves! 

With much of the creative direction being developed in-house, it  allowed for a fully personalized and cohesive look. 

Custom elements included:

• Birthday signage and playful graphics - An invitation suite sourced from Etsy, which we repurposed into signage throughout the party

• A custom animated photo and logo of the birthday girl created using Canva

• Coordinated print pieces for a polished finish - Personalized plates, cups, and goodie boxes designed through Zazzle.com

• In collaboration with other designers, we created girly firefighter-themed décor that was printed for the backdrop, stage, and entryway. 

• We also incorporated Sempertex balloons in Pastel Matte Pink, Bubble Gum, and Fashion Red to tie the entire look together.

These details helped bring personality into the space and made the celebration feel truly one-of-a-kind.

Devyn’s Fire House Market

We pulled together a playful little “Fire House Market” where kids could grab all of their goodies and takeaways from the party. It was designed to feel fun and inviting, giving little guests their own special spot to explore, pick treats, and leave with a sweet piece of the celebration.

DIY elements played a huge role in bringing this area to life. Fringe décor was created using plastic tablecloths, balloon ribbon, and staples, paired with Sempertex Link-O-Loon balloons and custom signage. We sourced hydrant cups and custom firefighter hats, paired them with custom straws (we always message etsy sellers to see if they can change the color of their designs - most of the time they say yes!), and created personalized goodie boxes from zazzle.com

To elevate the experience, we added Dalmatian plush toys, custom wrapped cotton candy tubs, coloring books, and adoption certificates, giving the market that extra “wow” factor!

The Experience

From the moment guests arrived, the space felt bright, happy, and full of life inviting little ones to explore, play, and celebrate while families gathered and enjoyed the moment together. It was the perfect blend of fun and thoughtful styling.

A highlight of the day was the fire engine experience by Hathaway Fire Services, which brought the theme to life in the most exciting way. Kids were able to climb into the rear cab, spray the  fire hose, and watch a firefighter gear up in full protective equipment. With plenty of photo opportunities and hands-on interaction, it created a fun, engaging, and memorable experience for everyone.

The finished celebration was sweet, vibrant, and full of heart, a true reflection of a little girl who brings warmth and joy wherever she goes. Soft, sparkly, and full of playful fire, this “Girl Is On Fire” first birthday was a beautiful way to mark such a special milestone.
